Belize "Hope Project"
Pray, give, go ...
BELIZE 2009 building hope :: trinity chapel
THREE WAYS FOR TRINITY CHAPEL TO BE INVOLVED
:: 1. PRAY ::
The first, and most important thing we beg of everyone in Trinity Chapel’s church
family is to please pray for Belize: for the nation and leadership, for the impoverished
peoples, for My Refuge (our hosts, lodging, and international Christian radio station),
for our ongoing ministry there, and for our 2009 mission. Pray for safety and health,
and that our activities would help share the light of Christ, as we build hope into this
great nation. For specific prayer requests and updates, contact Matt Hudson (matthew@penumbra.com)
:: 2. GIVE ::
Short-term missions are a great biblical image of “sending”: a local church in Fort
Worth, TX develops a heart for a nation, rallies together behind the projects and gives
the necessary funds to make the trip a success, then sends some of its people to carry
out the designated projects! Those who can’t go are still involved in making the
mission happen, through their prayers and gifts. This year’s projects are ambitious,
but will allow us to have a greater impact in Belize than ever before:
> For $3500, we can build the first house in “Village of Hope,” a place of refuge
and restoration for victims of domestic abuse as well as AIDS patients
> For $500, we can add benches and additional equipment to the playground we
built last year, making it more usable for kids and parents, as well as the school
> For $300, we can fully fund a pastor's training, complete with facility rental,
dinner, promotion material, supplies, and a web domain for consistant contact
> For $300, we can also fully fund a youth rally (over 52% of the nation is under
age 19!), to begin having an impact on the emerging generation of leaders
> For $100, we can carry out kids ministry, teaching daily in two local schools!
Including a few other expenses and covering unforseen costs, our goal is to
raise $5000 for Trinity Chapel’s 2009 misison to Belize. And if we raise more
than that, for an additional $8300, we can add a second house to the Village of Hope
and fully fund the salary for on-site staff for a whole year, adding safety/protction!
:: 3. GO ::
The final, and most direct way to be involved with Belize for 2009 is to join us on our
mission! We have 25 open spots, which are beginning to disappear quickly, and
welcome anyone age 16+ to join this great short-term endeavor! Mar 14-21; $1195.
