What’s your name?

Mike Patterson

How old are you?

44

Where are you from?

Fort Worth; Graduated from UTA in 1986 with a BBA in Accounting and in 1991 with an MBA.

What do you do for a living?

I am the Chief Financial Officer of DFB Pharmaceuticals / Healthpoint, a pharmaceutical company specializing in wound care and skin products. I have been with the company for 17 years.

Tell us about your family.

I met my wife, Beth, in my sophomore year of high school. We have been married 21 years and have two beautiful daughters: Chelsea (16) and Emma (11.)

Tell us about your relationship with Christ.

When I first met my wife (at age 16), I was not a Christian. I began attending church with her family and accepted Christ as my personal savior. While I had attended church quite regularly as a child, I had never heard the saving message of Jesus Christ. I matured slowly as a young Christian and did not really start to grow until after college. Once married and beginning a family, I was determined to raise my children in a strong Christian home. I began getting very involved in church. It was through teaching and service to others that I really began to grow.

Today, Christ is the center of our household. I take comfort in his unfailing love. When I do not live up to other’s expectations, I rely on the fact that Christ died for me and that makes me immeasurably valuable in His eyes.

How have you been involved in the ministry of Trinity Chapel?

We visited Trinity Chapel on the first day it opened and jumped right in. We started by hosting the youth events at our home. I have served as greeter, usher, and in offering counting. I have participated in Trinity University, Men’s Mentoring and Community Groups. I have led a Community Group for the past two years. I have also served on our Finance Committee working with the Shepherding Team on budgets and the search for the new facility.

How do you view your role as a deacon?

I think it is God’s plan to divide the work of the church. Each of us has unique gifts. I have over 20 years experience in financial management and have served on the Finance Committees of several churches. I view my role at TCBC as a fiduciary one, overseeing the financial matters of the church. My job is to serve the elders and aid them in their ministries. I want to instill confidence that the financial resources of the church are secure and used wisely, while glorifying Christ through our stewardship.
